Yep. That’s a huge part of why Donald Trump is leading in the polls.

Before you accuse me of hypocrisy, polls near the primaries are more reliable but nothing this far out from the general election tells us anything of substance about the general. It is WAY too early for that. However, we’d normally expect Biden to be leading in the polls right now. He’s the incumbent and the media loves him. That Trump leads in a lot of polls significantly tells us that Biden’s in trouble.

No, not every apparent inconsistency is hypocrisy. That said, there is plenty of real hypocrisy running around loose right now and it is having an effect.

The media doesn’t have much of a monopoly anymore. Even with YouTube pushing legacy media over their original creators – much to the consternation of those creators – doesn’t really get the legacy media the eyeballs they once enjoyed. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him watch your stupid channel.

I don’t think the media has gotten the memo. It’s a lot easier to get away with saying one thing and doing another when people can’t easily find out what you did on some other platform.
