Oh, settle down. I didn’t say that those rich boys weren’t powerful. They are, but they just found out that they aren’t as powerful as they thought they were.
How do I know? Simple, look at how many of those guys were at Trump’s inauguration. They were all card carrying Democrats on November 5th but now they’re scrambling to get in Trump’s good graces.
Brown nosing is not the sign of either an oligarch or an Illuminati. It’s a bunch of wealthy people trying to stay wealthy by having a president’s ear.
Too early to say for sure but I suspect that there’s not going to be any joy in Mudville for at least four years.
It gets worse.
Most of the elites or 1 percent or whatever you want to call a bunch of overstuffed shirts with more money than sense have been using the Democrat Party as their own little country club for swaying political power. Jumping ship now puts huge holes in the already sinking ship.
Meaning that the Democrat Party they know won’t be there when Trump leaves office in 2029. The Republicans are in the make or break part of their reformation and cannot be too cozy with the Left or its former members.
If the Republicans were even so inclined, and most aren’t, they can’t become the puppets of the Elites. Their own base would eat them alive.
Seems that people don’t like it when they think that the powerful have been abusing their power, especially when it is at the expense of the regular folks. American conservatives are especially touchy about having their Free Speech rights infringed.
Oh, it’s never as simple as the explanation makes it sound and there will be plenty of consternation between Republicans and their own supporters. Political rides are never smooth.
Point is, all the powerful people who are now swarming around Trump are the clarion call of a failing power block and a strong indication that the Democrat Party has begun to collapse.
The rats leaving the ship are the best sign that the ship has begun to sink.
The only reason money talks in electoral politics is that it takes money to run a campaign and a campaign to win votes. The real currency of elections is votes
Without a political party that can win elections the supposed oligarchs are just wealthy people who are praying that they won’t be fleeced by the very government that they thought they could control.
This old democratic republic may have taken a beating or two but she’s still large and in charge.
Now we just have to keep her that way.
