A Word About Hurricane Helene

Dear Lord, Thank You that it wasn’t worse and for all those You protected. Now, Father, please give us as individuals, as communities, as churches and as a nation the strength to help all those in need. All those displaced. All those without supplies. All those without power. All those desperately seeking loved ones. All those hurt and injured. All those grieving. All those still missing. All those still in need of rescue. All of them. Grant us the strength … Continue reading “A Word About Hurricane Helene”

Why Are the Democrats so Desperate?

Okay, let’s get the important stuff done first. I was wrong about the debate – it was pretty lackluster. For political junkies it had lots to chew on but normal people probably found it kinda so-so. Harris performed better than expected – a lot better – and Trump showed a couple flashes of anger. He’s more entertaining on Twitter. Can’t get ’em all right. But owning one’s mistakes is the first step to not making the same stupid ones again. … Continue reading “Why Are the Democrats so Desperate?”

We Won’t Forget, 9/11/2001

It was twenty-three years ago. Seems like yesterday. Still doesn’t seem completely real. It wasn’t the first attack on the Twin Towers. In 1993 a truck bomb was set off in the basement of the North Tower, killing six and injuring over one thousand. The towers would reopen in less than six weeks despite the heavy damage. It was a deadly prelude to the September 11th attacks. I had heard about the first plane just before leaving for work as … Continue reading “We Won’t Forget, 9/11/2001”

Trump Versus Harris: The Long Awaited Debate Will the Fur Fly?

Probably not. But tune in anyway, this is gonna be a doozy! Trump is a lot of things, some of which annoy the heck out of virtually everyone. But the one thing he isn’t is a complete idiot. Coming out swinging is a stupid strategy and he knows it. Trump patiently let Biden destroy his own campaign. Trump can certainly do that again. Instead of a Trump slugfest, we’re gonna get to watch a Harris tap dance. Harris is going … Continue reading “Trump Versus Harris: The Long Awaited Debate Will the Fur Fly?”

Will Israel Cost Harris the Election?

Nah, Harris is busily doing that all by herself. But her ineptitude on the crisis in Israel is making things much worse for her. Neither Michigan nor Minnesota are worth the kind of grief the Biden admin – including Harris – is creating for itself. Sacrificing millions of votes not only in this election but in contests to come for the sake a few hundred thousand that might or might not even vote is gross political incompetence. The Jewish vote … Continue reading “Will Israel Cost Harris the Election?”

Who’s Winning Now? Harris or Trump?

Technically, neither. The election is November 5th. No one wins until votes are counted. Sure, I’m being snarky – it’s my schtick – but it brings up a valuable point to remember: only votes count. All else is hot air. That includes your beloved polls, my snarky commentary, the endless talking head parade on a variety of media, rally size or lack thereof, donations whether big or small, the whole campaigning shebang. All of it is just noise. At the … Continue reading “Who’s Winning Now? Harris or Trump?”

Will Harris Hold Onto Her Lead?

July 21, 2024: Democrats: Yay, we have a candidate that isn’t Biden! July 22, 2024: Democrats: Oh, our candidate is Harris. Yay? August 6, 2024: Democrats: Crap. Okay, I’m going to say this for the umpteenth time: the polls are crap. Yes, three months out, it’s STIL:L too early. Undecideds really start to solidify about two months out. Following the poll numbers is pointless. But who can resist a pretty bouncing ball? At this point in time, I’m still only … Continue reading “Will Harris Hold Onto Her Lead?”

Olympic Level Malice

Childless cat lady here. Overweight, virgin, disabled and Christian. All the things that it’s okay to make fun of nowadays. Also, cranky and not taking any of the nonsense. Losers punch down. Why bother worrying about what losers think? If you’re the kind of loser who thinks you have to denigrate others in order to improve yourself, you’re not only a loser but you’re going to stay a loser. Until you figure out that kicking the guy who’s down just … Continue reading “Olympic Level Malice”

Honeymoon or Nightmare? Harris’ First Week as Candidate

The new polls are out. They may or may not matter. Depends, with them being right on the heels of Biden’s ouster, the public’s opinion may not have caught up with the Democrat whiplash. But, since when are we going to let a little thing like commonsense get in the way of endless analysis? Well, if you watch any of the legacy media, commonsense has definitely lost. The Democrat cheerleaders like MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC and even CNN are singing … Continue reading “Honeymoon or Nightmare? Harris’ First Week as Candidate”

America Will Survive: The Myth of American Polarization

Heck, it’ll even thrive. The Democrat Party, not so much. For the last several years there has been an incessant drumbeat of polarization. Turn on any outlet, major, minor or just some guy on YouTube and all you will hear is how polarized the US has become. The events of the last three weeks seem to seal the deal for many people. But it’s still not true. America remains as insanely centrist as she’s always been. Seriously, America’s centrism is … Continue reading “America Will Survive: The Myth of American Polarization”
